Mike started his law enforcement career as a law enforcement officer in April of 2006 after working as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher in both Omaha, NE and Pierre, SD.
Mike joined the Corson County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff in September of 2010 and was promoted to Sergeant in November of 2021. In addition to administrative duties, Mike is currently a certified Police Service Dog Instructor, Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Instructor, and is a member of the North Central South Dakota Multi-Jurisdictional Criminal Enforcement Team. Mike also serves as the Corson County Emergency Management Director.
Throughout his career, Mike has seized in excess of $3,250,000 in contraband and criminal proceeds.
In his free time, Mike is an Adjunct Instructor for the South Dakota Law Enforcement Training Center and is a former Instructor for a law enforcement training company based in the Midwest. Mike teaches Search & Seizure, Criminal Patrol Tactics for Rural Areas, DUI-Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Drug Recognition, and RADAR Operations.
Mike's partner, K-9 Zigi, is a Belgian Malinois who was born in the Village of Nowy Bugaj in Southwest Poland in November of 2022. Zigi is trained in the detection of marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and ecstasy. Zigi is Mike’s third K-9 and has been assigned to him since January of 2024. Mike and Zigi completed the 240-hour South Dakota Dog Camp in April of 2024.
Previously, Mike handled K-9 Winnie from November of 2009 to March of 2013, when she was retired and adopted to a loving family in Aberdeen, and K-9 Taz from March of 2013 to January of 2024, when Taz died of cancer.

Blaze began his employment with the Corson County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff in October of 2023. Blaze is currently undergoing a field training program prior to attending the South Dakota Law Enforcement Training Academy.
Blaze, an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, was born in Eagle Butte, SD, and attended his schooling in Rapid City, SD.
Having worked both in state and tribal correctional facilities, Blaze comes to us with several years of experience as a Corrections Officer, Training Officer, and most recently Corrections Sergeant.
In his spare time, Blaze enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and child.

Isaac initially began his employment with the Corson County Sheriff's Office in October of 2024.
Coming to Corson County as a certified law enforcement officer, Isaac brings with him eight years of experience in both county and municipal law enforcement, four of which was spent working in a county located on a federally recognized reservation in South Central South Dakota. Isaac has also worked several years for the Sturgis Police Department as a Special Officer and Team Leader during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Isaac and his family will be making their home in Mobridge, and he looks forward to getting out and meeting the residents of Corson County.

Parker joined the Sheriff's Office in January of 2025 after working as a Police Reserve Officer for the Sturgis Police Department and a full-time Dispatcher for the Meade County 9-1-1 Center.
Parker will be making his home in McIntosh, SD.
